Laboratory and Field Technician – Wellington

If you are keen to gain geotechnical field and laboratory experience, then this is a fantastic opportunity.

This work is based in the Wellington area. This is a great opportunity for a student of Earth Science, Geology, Physical Geography, NZ Dip in Engineering, experience is not essential as on the job training will be provided. The nature of the work may require early starts, late finishes, and occasional overtime.

  • Laboratory soil testing
  • Geotechnical field testing and investigation
  • Monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation
  • Environmental monitoring

Nā tōu rourou | What you’ll bring

  • A qualification in one of the disciplines listed above
  • You will ideally have completed at least Level 2 NCEA and have 0-2 years’ work experience.
  • A full drivers licence and ability to operate a manual vehicle.
  • Able to lift items weighing 20kg+;
  • Computer literate – especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
