Cone Penetration Operator – Onehunga
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Geotechnics team based in Onehunga as a Cone Penetration Operator. You will work on some unique projects alongside a great team.
To be successful in this position, you will have a record illustrating a strong work ethic and the ability to deliver high-quality work. You will understand all types of CPT testing, including seismic CPT’s and CPT sampling methods. You will also have strong competency in Microsoft Word and Excel to at least an intermediate level, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You have the flexibility to travel for work as required.
The work is varied and will involve:
- CPT testing, reporting, maintenance, and quality control
- Geotechnical field-testing and investigation – including hand augers, test pits and terrier rig operations.
- Civil laboratory testing
- Operation of heavy testing and soil sampling equipment
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with a wide range of CPT equipment including Pagani CPT.
- Experience in compiling CPT data.
- A full New Zealand drivers’ license is essential.
- A good level of physical fitness as the role also involves heavy lifting.
- Willingness to travel and work in different regions as required.
- Good team player and personality
- Must be willing to get hands dirty and enjoy working outdoors.
- High standard and quality of paperwork
- Excellent time management skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- A desire to develop and share knowledge.
- Someone who can get things happening, a proactive initiator.
- An appreciation of the importance of quality management systems and processes.
