Financial Accountant / Business Partner – Onehunga

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant / Business Partner to get involved in all aspects of the accounting process, including proactive partnering with the senior leadership team and financial oversight of one of our subsidiary companies.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted financial adviser to senior managers, helping understand performance drivers, strengthen financial discipline, and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.

You’ll regularly report to the senior leadership team and present to the wider business on performance and improvement opportunities, while also being the go-to person for monthly accounts, including preparing workpapers, reconciling and reviewing accounts payable/receivable, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and working with senior Finance team members across the wider Group on various projects.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 4 years experience in a chartered accounting firm or a similar professional services environment and be able to demonstrate:

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting packages
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Data processing and reconciliation skills
  • A strong working knowledge of latest accounting standards and NZ tax requirements.
  • Great communicator, smart, and approachable! Happy to engage with stakeholders across all levels.
  • A proactive and solutions focussed approach.
  • Tertiary degree or diploma in accounting or finance
  • Hold a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation
