Geophysicists Technicians (Junior-Intermediate level) – Auckland

Geotechnics is expanding, and we’re looking for motivated Junior to Intermediate Geophysicists to join our growing Auckland Geophysics team.

If you have 2+ years’ industry experience and a passion for delivering high‑quality subsurface insights, this is your opportunity to take the next step in a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.

Working alongside engineers, geologists, and project managers on a diverse range of projects across Oceania, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate geophysical data that directly informs design and construction decisions. Kei te hiahia mātou ki ōu | We want your skills

  • Undertake geophysical surveys and data acquisition using MASW and Downhole seismic methods.
  • Carry out borehole logging and analysis using ATV/OTV techniques.
  • Process, interpret, and report geophysical data to support engineering and geotechnical projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated project solutions.
  • Ensure all work meets health, safety, and quality requirements.

Nā tōu rourou | What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Geophysics, Geology, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years+ of industry experience in geophysical site investigations.
  • Practical experience with MASW, Downhole seismic, and ATV/OTV logging.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • Safety-focused, quality-driven, and detail‑oriented.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
