IoT Technician – 6 Month Fixed Term Auckland

Are you technically savvy and passionate geotechnical/environmental monitoring? Join our Cirro team at Geotechnics and play a key role in delivering innovative monitoring solutions across New Zealand.

This role covers the full lifecycle of geotechnical and environmental monitoring — from assembling hardware to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting sensors, loggers, and devices. You’ll be the first line of defence when issues arise and will help ensure our clients receive accurate, reliable data.

Kei te hiahia mātou ki ōu | We want your skills

  • Assemble and install IoT hardware and instrumentation to a high standard
  • Maintain and calibrate sensors and loggers
  • Troubleshoot and repair monitoring equipment and software issues
  • Advise on suitable instrumentation and telemetry options for clients
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and deliver quality results
  • Prioritise safety and follow Geotechnics’ quality management processes

Nā tōu rourou | What you’ll bring

  • Ideally 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Basic understanding of IoT concepts, electrical principles, and electronic hardware
  • Familiarity with geotechnical or environmental monitoring equipment
  • Practical skills with tools and assembly
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Team player who can also work independently
  • Safety-conscious and committed to Health & Safety
  • Full NZ driver’s licence and willingness to travel
