Technical Sales Consultant – Auckland
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate – Senior Technical Sales Consultant to join our Onehunga team, supporting nationwide customer relationships and business growth. This role requires regular travel across New Zealand and will suit someone confident operating at a strategic and consultative level.
This role primarily focuses on geotechnical instrumentation, environmental sampling and monitoring equipment, supporting a professional, technically driven industry. We operate across a diverse range of sectors, including transport, mining, infrastructure, and energy, providing exposure to complex, high-profile projects nationwide.
This is an opportunity for an established technical sales professional with 5+ years’ experience who enjoys building long-term partnerships, understanding complex technical solutions, and driving sustainable revenue growth. You’ll be commercially astute, technically curious, and comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.

- Lead and grow sales activity across the geotechnical and environmental sectors, with national responsibility
- Develop and execute sales strategies to identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities
- Manage key client relationships, acting as a trusted technical and commercial advisor
- Drive cross-selling of products and services while maintaining high customer satisfaction
- Own the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to negotiation and close
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including technical input into marketing and digital collateral
- Maintain strong market awareness, identifying trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities
Nā tōu rourou | What you’ll bring
- 5+ years’ experience in technical or consultative sales, ideally within engineering, instrumentation, construction, or a related technical environment
- Demonstrated success managing complex sales cycles and building long-term customer relationships
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer value
- A genuine interest in civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering applications
- Experience with geotechnical or environmental instrumentation (e.g. data loggers, sensors, monitoring systems) is advantageous, though not essential
- Willingness and flexibility to travel nationwide as required
