TAKITIMU NORTH LINK PROJECT

TAURANGA, NEW ZEALAND

  • CLIENT: Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency
  • CONTRACTOR: Fulton Hogan HEB Joint Venture
  • COMMENCEMENT: 2021

This project will connect Tauranga and Ōmokoroa with a new 14 km four-lane corridor between State Highway 29 Takitimu Drive Toll Road and State Highway 2 Ōmokoroa intersection. It will improve safety, ease congestion, and provide greater travel choice.

Geotechnics is involved with Stage One of the project which will see a new 6.8 km four-lane road constructed between Tauranga and Te Puna, providing an alternative route to SH2.

Instrumentation on the trail embankment has been supplied and installed by Geotechnics. We monitor the Profilometers and Inclinometers we have installed, whilst also providing telemetered data for Vibrating Wire Piezometers and Water Leveloggers.

We have also been monitoring the turbidity of the streams using telemetered instruments.
